This is the first batch of beer, a lot of trub at the bottom. I should probably start filtering that out a bit more. The small jar contains a yeast starter that I made. I washed some yeast from a previous batch of beer, but didn’t end up with a lot of yeast from it. So I made an emergency starter early in the day using brown sugar dissolved in water and some raisin (apparently raisins have a lot of nutrients that yeast like). Seems to have worked out alright.
